Janet Schultz Leon, Ph.D. NJ Licensed Psychologist #35S100769800 Authority to Practice Interjurisdictional Telepsychology (APIT) through Psypact #23434 Dr. Janet Schultz Leon is an experienced licensed Bilingual psychologist and certified school psychologist in New Jersey. Dr. Leon has 20+ years of experience in schools conducting psychological evaluations, providing individual/group counseling, and consulting with staff, adults and families. Dr. Leon utilizes a cognitive behavioral approach while building a safe therapeutic relationship with her clients. She incorporates a culturally and linguistically diverse psychological perspective. Dr. Leon developed additional clinical skills at Bellevue Hospital's Bilingual Treatment Clinic and Montefiore Hospital's Child Outpatient clinic providing support to adolescents and adults including Spanish speaking parenting groups. She specializes in bilingual/multicultural counseling, ethnic identity development, special education issues, and has worked extensively with individuals with ADHD, anxiety, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and executive functioning skills. Dr. Leon graduated summa cum laude with college honors from Rutgers University in Music and Psychology (2000). She then received her master's degree in Bilingual School Psychology (2005) and doctoral degree (2012) in psychology from Fordham University's Graduate School of Education in School Psychology. While we currently do not accept insurance, we can provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your provider for reimbursement if you have out-of-network reimbursement for mental health services. We cannot guarantee reimbursement, as each insurance plan varies. All sessions are tax-deductible.
